Office Chairs with Polyurethane Wheels

The castors (wheels) on office chairs will work very well on carpet floors. But most will leave nasty dark marks on your lovely wooden floors. That’s where polyurethane castors (or PU castors) come in.

The standard castors on office chairs are made of a hard nylon plastic material. Although the nylon in the castors is quite colour-fast, the colour-fastness cannot withstand the high pressure applied when a human body rolls the chair along a wooden floor: the nylon rubs hard against the wood of the floor and leaves dark marks in its wake.

Polyurethane is a softer material than nylon, but it is a lot more colour-fast. Polyurethane castors do withstand the pressures applied when you roll your chair along the floor, and the castors will not bleed their black colour in the process.

So if you are buying an office chair for use on a wooden floor and don’t want the chair to leave nasty dark marks, buy a set of PU castors with it. PU castors will typically add £10.00 to the price of your chair, but they will make your nice wood floor look beautiful for longer.

Children's computer chairsMore and more young children are using a home computer. They are doing their homework, visiting children’s and educational websites, and playing computer games. But often, these young children are sitting in a grown-up’s chair with their legs and feet dangling, and they are using a keyboard and mouse in an awkward posture because they are sitting too low.

Office Chairs for Christmas Delivery

Christmas is finally upon us, and we at Chellgrove Office Chairs are looking forward to taking a well deserved year-end’s break. 

1pm on Wednesday 19th December is the last day to order your home office chair or computer chair if you would like it to be delivered before Christmas. Chairs ordered from our list of Next-Day Delivery page will be delivered on Thursday 2oth December.

Beware when placing orders from other pages to check whether the chair(s) you have selected are next-day delivery items or 2-3 week custom-designed offering.

We will still be able to take Christmas delivery orders up to 12-noon on Thursday 20th December, but you will have to specify our 10am or 9am delivery service (costing a token £14). This service should ensure that your office chairs or computer chairs are delivered to you on the morning of Friday 21st December.

Our next delivery date after Christmas will be Thursday 3rd January.
